Colorado National Speedway - April 30th, 2022
Tim & the team kicked off the 2022 weekly racing season at Colorado National Speedway in Dacono, CO on Saturday April 30th with a 40 lap feature event.
Practice:
Tim went out for all 3 10 minute practice sessions and was 4th-5th each run. Tim & the team worked hard to find some speed to catch the front runners and also conserve tires as these would be the tires we would be running on for our heat race.
Qualifying:
Tim took advantage of the new set of tires we got and went out and set the 3rd fastest time with a time of 15.694.
Fast Dash:
Tim started on the pole (1st) in the fast dash, however on the opening couple of laps brushed the wall then backed off to preserve the car for the 40 lap feature. The team decided to run the used practice tires for the heat race and put back on the brand-new set of tires for the 40 lap A Main.
A-Main (40 Laps):
After the pill draw for starting positions Tim started 9th in the A Main. He started working his way to the front and got as high as 6th when he ran over a piece of leftover debris from the division before and started a slow leak in the tire. Tim fell back to 8th and rode there for the rest of the race. After pulling in the pits the team measured the air pressure and it had only 5 PSI in the tire. Tim did a great job holding onto the car for nearly the entire race on a slow leak flat tire. The race went green all 40 laps without a caution flag.
