After our crash in Monroe, WA last month we weren’t sure what we were gonna do for the rest of the season. Luckily, we were able to find a car locally and worked tirelessly to get it running in time for this race.
We worked day and night over the last week putting this new car together and got it finished up late Friday night. During practice there were a few issues and the car needed some major adjustments.
Qualifying: We qualified 14th out 15 cars, the front end issues we were battling with in practice continued to creep up on us. Another issue was the motor sputtered down the straightaways. Our hard working crew was able to change out all the plugs and it seemed to fix the issue. We missed the dash race and focused on trying to get the car ready to race the 40 lap feature.

40 Lap Feature: We started 15th and decided to ride towards the back to shake the car down and get a good baseline for improving the car for future races. When the green flag dropped we were able to get by a couple cars and keep pace with cars around us in the pack. As the race continued we ran into more issues, this time with the power steering. By lap 25 it was getting very difficult to steer and hang on, so we decided to pull off the track. We got some good notes for this new car and will build on them for the next race.
A huge thanks to my amazing crew including my dad Tim, mom Jen, Adam, Derek, Henry, Gage, Todd & Jack. Big thanks to Mike Leary for the shock help, Darren Robertson & Alex Kremansky for helping us with some of the issues we faced.
Also a big shoutout to all our sponsors for their continued support of our race team: Roller Auctions, Flatirons Chemicals, Weifield Group Contracting, Reaching Health Goals, Winsupply Denver, Buckeye Welding Supply, Benchmark Design Build, VSI Trucks, Metro Brokers Elite, Fire Alarm Services, Pye Barker, American Sprinkler Inc, & Matco Tools.
We will be back racing on Saturday September 17th at Colorado National Speedway.
