Overheating issues ends our day early at the Turkey Shoot.
Tim & the team headed to Tucson Speedway in Tucson, AZ for the annual Turkey Shoot where he made his debut in the Super Late Model at the speedway. The event took place from November 26 - November 28. Tim recently raced at the speedway during the Chilly Willy event in January driving the Legend Car.
Friday: Practice
Tim did a couple of runs during Friday's practice to shake down the car. Tim & team worked hard to find some speed during the practice sessions & made some adjustments to get ready for Saturday's events which included qualifying for the Turkey Shoot & a 50 lap prelim feature.
Saturday: Qualifying & 50 Lap Prelim Feature
Day 2 started off with another practice session that led into qualifying for the Turkey Shoot 125. Tim qualified Quick Time (1st) with a time of 15.350 which meant he would start on the pole for the prelim feature & Sunday's Turkey Shoot 125.
Tim led 49 of 50 laps in the prelim feature & took home the victory & put the field on notice that he was there to win in his first attempt in the Turkey Shoot.
Sunday: Turkey Shoot 125
Day 3 of the Turkey Shoot 125 featured only the big race.
Tim started on the pole & led a majority of the first 55 laps before the car got hot to over 240° and we pulled off to preserve our motor so it didn't blow up.
It was an unfortunate end to the day as we had the car to beat during the entire weekend.
Thanks to everyone who made this trip possible including our crew for making the trip down to Tucson.
